Play & Sing Mixolydian Class (Advanced Beginner) - Laura
This is a fun workshop for beginner and advanced beginner players, to learn simple chord shapes, and have fun with songs from different genres: Celtic, folk, New Orleans Jazz, and Appalachian. Yes, you will be able to play these by the end of class! Although singing is NOT required, you can take yourself to a new level by adding your voice.

Laura will lead the Song Circle for all levels to come and join in. There will be songs in Aeolian, and Mixolydian modes ready to go, and we open it up to anyone sharing, or leading a song with the group as well. This has always been a fun jam circle, in the midst of an excellent day of dulcimer playing!

When the Saints Go Marching In

A Swallow Song

Laura Devine Burnett has been playing the Dulcimer since the early 1980's. Her first lesson was with Joellen Lapidus, at McCabes Guitar Shop Joellen's style of playing really spoke to Laura, and she has made her own way with her playing ever since.
The dulcimer is an excellent instrument to accompany her singing style, which can range from folk, rock, Americana, and some gospel /blues.
Her previous band DulcimerGirls played at many local venues, and The American River Festival. They recorded an Americana CD titled
Old Ways are Leaving . You can hear  a some of the compositions on YouTube.
She currently loves teaching others to play and sing, and perform with friends. She occasionally duets with her husband, Bob Burnett, on his 7 string guitar."
